Allen Atelier provides Architecture, Interiors, and Planning services for residential and commercial projects, and is based on the north coast of California.

An atelier (ah·teh·lee·ay) is a studio or workshop — and in our case, signifies working in close collaboration with our clients to create meaningful and unique buildings and spaces.

Our design strives to respond to and work within its context and landscape. We pay special attention to the experience of arrival, the space around a building, and how landscape and exterior spaces connect to the whole — so that everything feels grounded in its setting. Sustainable design and use of local materials are central to our process, folded in from the earliest stages of a project. In our work, we aim to translate the local language of architectural elements into contemporary design through attention to scale, proportion, composition, and ornament.

Allen Atelier looks at projects holistically, and we enjoy working across the site planning, architectural, and interior levels when the scope calls for it.
