The Eureka Department of Motor Vehicles found a new home in an extensive remodel of the former Redwood Harley-Davidson store with a storage and workshop space for Pierson Company in the back, service section of the existing building. Exterior work includes a reconfiguration of the existing parking lot,   upgrades the accessible path of travel, and adds new exterior lighting. The interior space was reconfigured to accommodate new offices, open work space, storage, a multi-purpose room, employee break room, and public lobby. Restrooms were added and upgraded to accommodate the new use and for accessibility. New partition walls, reconfiguring of existing HVAC registers and ducts, lighting, plumbing, doors, door hardware, signage, and new finishes were all part of the project in order to enhance functionality and accessibility. The project is a definite upgrade from the DMV’s six year temporary stint in a small storefront at the mall.
